2025 GMC Acadia: A Masterclass in Versatility, Performance, and Design
Trim Levels
GMC offers the 2025 Acadia in Elevation, AT4, and Denali trims. This SUV stands tall on the road at 70.1 inches, 3.2 inches taller than its predecessor and 10.6 inches longer. It also boasts a 120.9-inch wheelbase.
The Elevation has signature C-shape LED headlamps, 18-inch Grazen Metallic painted wheels, and black roof rails, while AT4 trims add Night Rider chrome accents, red recovery hooks, and 18-inch dark machined wheels with all-terrain tires. Denali brings luxury with its Galvano Silver grille, animated lighting, and optional 22-inch machined wheels.
Engine
A gutsy 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine powers the 2025 Acadia. The engine produces 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque, putting it in the high power output league among midsize SUVs. You'll feel that muscle when you merge onto the highway or pass a slow-moving semi.
Backing up this power plant is a standard eight-speed automatic transmission. Shifts are smooth, and the gearbox knows when to hold a gear for climbing hills and when to upshift for cruising. It's impressive how responsive the setup feels — there's hardly any lag before the turbo spools up.
Performance
The 2025 Acadia delivers an impressive performance, accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in 6.5 and 6.7 seconds with a top speed between 118 and 130 mph. It handles corners with confidence, staying stable and planted, unlike many tall vehicles.
The Acadia tows up to 5,000 pounds, matching competitors such as the Toyota Grand Highlander and Honda Pilot. The available active torque control all-wheel-drive system, standard on the AT4 and optional on other models, redistributes power to wheels with traction. The AT4 adds a lifted ride height and off-road-tuned suspension, while a traction select system offers specialized modes for various driving conditions.
Interior
The redesigned cabin delivers major space improvements. Cargo space behind the third row expands to 23 cubic feet, beating the Toyota Grand Highlander's 20.6 cubic feet and the Honda Pilot's 18.6 cubic feet. Folding the third row gives 57 cubic feet, and all rear seats allow 98 cubic feet of space.
Passengers enjoy ample room with front seats offering 42.6 inches of headroom and 44.3 inches of legroom. Rear seats provide 40 inches of headroom and 41.5 inches for legs. The Elevation seats eight, while the AT4 and Denali feature second-row captain's chairs, seating seven with easier third-row access.
Tech offerings include a 15-inch portrait touchscreen and an 11-inch digital gauge. Google built-in provides maps and assistant integration, alongside wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. An optional Bose system with up to 16 speakers delivers excellent sound quality, and the intuitive menu system keeps controls accessible.
Safety Features
GMC equips all Acadias with comprehensive safety features, including a forward collision alert with automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring with lane-change assist, and lane-keep assist with lane departure warning.
The optional GMC Super Cruise system allows hands-free driving on more than 400,000 miles of compatible highways. Using LiDAR map data, cameras, sensors, and GPS, it controls steering, braking, and acceleration at speeds up to 85 mph while monitoring driver attention. The HD surround vision camera system significantly improves visibility.
